The Forensic Team had the opportunity to speak at the RHS Veterans Day program. The following students had the opportunity to present speeches: Tierra Williams, Kristen Ellis, Cecil Dunston, and Lamley Lawson. You guys did a "great" job!
Congratulations to the Forensic team who placed 1st place in debate / congress sweepstakes and 2nd place in overall team sweepstakes. Congratulations also, to Cody Morrow, who won his first trophy, and it was first place in Novice Lincoln Douglas Debate! Great job to all who competed! Ya'll are the best!
The Forensic Team hosted the 1st Open Mic Poetry Night in the cafetorium. There were approximately 12 poems presented, lots of great food and coffee, and tons of fun. If you were not able to make it, make sure to make plans to attend the next one. Congratulations to all the novices who competed in the Stennis Novice Tournatment at Mississippi State University! Once again, you guys kicked butt! We can't forget to thank all of the student judges and the parents, coaches, and spouses that made this tournament possible. We couldn't have done it without you!

Congratulations to our Novices!! We had a "great" showing at our first tournament of the season. In Prose Interpretation Rashad Moore placed 2nd and Ember Kor placed 5th. In TV Commentary Cecil Dunston placed 2nd and Ember Kor placed 5th. In Extemporaneous Speaking Brittany Steen placed 4th. Congratulations to all who competed!

Hello varsity, novice, and potential members of the 2008-2009 Ridgeland High School Forensics team! I know that everyone must be missing school to death and wishing summer would just go away! I mean who wants an extended period of mindless fun and leisure time anyway? Well, maybe you do, but what everyone should be looking forward to is being a part of our growing speech and debate team.
